In this home in L.A.’s trendy Silver Lake neighborhood, the stainless-steel-and-leather Mies van der Rohe chair is topped with a kilim pillow by Commune. Johanknecht designed the cocktail table. The lamp is vintage, and the fireplace surround is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Iron Mountain.

In the conservatory of a Beverly Hills house decorated by Madeline Stuart, the sofa, upholstered in a Lee Jofa fabric, and the cocktail table are custom made, the vintage pine armchairs by Axel Einar Hjorth have cushions covered in a Chapas ****iles linen, and the oak stools are vintage. The ceiling skylights are milk glass; the walls are walnut; and the floors are Spanish terra-cotta tiles.

In the living room of television producer Ellen Rakieten’s Los Angeles apartment, which was designed by Anne Coyle, a Louis XV–style desk by Baker is paired with a side chair by Jonathan Adler. The 1940s chandelier is Italian, and the mirrored walls and concrete flooring are original to the apartment.
