New livery reflects HRT’s determination
NARROWLY missing a drivers’ [عزيزي الزائر يتوجب عليك التسجيل لمشاهدة الرابط للتسجيل اضغط هنا] championship in his first year with the Holden Racing Team has only fuelled Will Davison’s desire to make the team’s 20th year in the sport unforgettable.
Davison left Melbourne last night on a three day overseas trip, [عزيزي الزائر يتوجب عليك التسجيل لمشاهدة الرابط للتسجيل اضغط هنا] which [عزيزي الزائر يتوجب عليك التسجيل لمشاهدة الرابط للتسجيل اضغط هنا] will include visiting the Abu Dhabi circuit that will host next month’s opening round of the V8 supercar season.
Before leaving, Davison and Toll HRT teammate Garth Tander unveiled the new paint jobs adorning their VE Commodores and agreed it was the most ”aggressive” livery they had seen on a race car.
The design, which includes its new sponsor prominently displayed on the bonnet, features a return to the team’s traditionally dominant red and a shift away from the fluorescent colours of recent years.
”It looks awesome,” said Davison, who finished second last year behind Jamie Whincup.
Davison and Tander, who finished third overall in the drivers’ championship, waged a thrilling battle with Whincup and his TeamVodafone partner Craig Lowndes throughout the year. Whincup won back to back titles after Davison’s exit in the penultimate round of the season at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth. The Holden driver skidded on an oil spill, which sent him into a fence and out of the title race.
”It was pretty heartbreaking,” Davison said, adding that he had analysed his performances and felt ”more relaxed” and better prepared heading into his second season with the factory backed Holden team.
”In this sport, team relationships, continuity and building on good years to get your confidence up is crucial. We’re all feeling good, we’re all ready [عزيزي الزائر يتوجب عليك التسجيل لمشاهدة الرابط للتسجيل اضغط هنا] for action.
”We’ve got no doubt about how tough our competitors are going to be and I’m just excited about getting out there, seeing who’s got what and having some hard door to door racing all year.”
Yesterday’s season launch at Holden’s Melbourne headquarters was also a chance for the drivers to spruik the team’s history, stretching back to the maiden Bathurst 1000 win in 1990.
Heading into the team’s 20th year, Davison and Tander will again face stiff opposition from Whincup and Lowndes, who have switched from Ford to Holden. ”We want to come out on top, regardless of who’s driving what,” Tander said.
