So I think a few of us will be attending weddings this summer, and I know that I’m definitely looking for some fashion advice. I also love these types of threads, and I’m hoping others do too. 😀 Anyone should feel free to hop on into this thread with their own queries if they like!
I’m going to a wedding in Ottawa in early July. Quite possibly very hot. This is the venue: Weddings | Saunders Farm. I actually don’t plan on buying a new dress, but I do plan on "shopping in my closet" as there are quite a few things I’ve never really worn and I’m excited about the weight I’ve lost and will (hopefully) continue to lose. So I think I’d like to wear this dress:
It does come with the belt, and yes, the belt is more pink while the dress is more red, but the belt is optional or can be switched for another. I think this has the right feel and it will be comfortable for dancing and corralling kids but still cute. Thoughts?
I definitely need some shoe advice and will be buying something new. The event will likely be a mix of indoor/outdoor, so skinny heels will be at risk of sinking into the grass, but I would like some height, not flats. And I’d like to find a wee cardi or shrug just to have the option. Completely open for jewelry, clutch, accessories. I do need insanely hypo-allergenic earrings, however. I have cool undertones and my engagement and wedding rings are white gold.
I’m also open to suggestions for my husband (he’s been slimming down along with me and is just about out of clothes). A light coloured summery suit is always an option, but separate pants/sport coat might be a more practical way to go. He’ll need a shirt that he can get in a Tall size but still fitted, not something for a typical "big and tall" man.
I should also mention that this wedding falls on the tail end of a 3-week-long road trip, and we need to pack light and make things do double duty. I’m thinking I can work this dress at a more casual Summer party as well, but I need to be mindful of the total shoe count. 😆 Whatever I wear for the wedding I’d like to also be able to wear out to dinner, etc. They don’t have to be casual but it would be nice if they didn’t look too out of place for a trip to the mall or whatever, because my only other options might be hiking shoes or casual sandals.
Thanks, gang!
