A determined Bride refused to call off her wedding — even though the Groom was unconscious. According to the Times of India, during the wedding ceremony, the Groom had an epileptic seizure and collapsed in front of a large gathering of family and guests.
The Bride was enraged, realizing that her husband-to-be had been hiding his medical condition from her. While the groom’s family rushed him to the hospital, the Bride carried on with the nuptials — with another man. She scanned the crowd and chose a gentleman — the brother of her sister’s husband — and married him right on the spot.
When the Groom regained consciousness, he returned to the wedding venue to find his Bride had already tied the knot. He pleaded with her to reconsider, saying he’d be shamed by his friends and family if he returned to his neighborhood without a wife. But the newlywed woman stood firm.
And that’s when it got ugly. Dishes and silverware went flying as the families brawled over the bridal bait-and-switch.
Police had to break up the fight and arrested several of the guests. The Groom and his family filed a complaint with local police, but an officer told the Times of India, “since the Bride is already married now, what can anyone do?” The complaint was eventually withdrawn.
