One is the fifth in line to the throne and the other is a smouldering Hollywood film star as well known for his good looks as his acting credentials.
But while one would think Prince Andrew and George Clooney have little in common, it emerged last month that the 54-year-old Royal has developed a close friendship with the actor’s Croatian model ex.
Rumours have been growing ever since that Prince Andrew is in a romantic relationship with Monika Jakisic, who at 34 is 20 years his junior.
Ms Jakistic, a 5ft 10 tall model who refers to herself as the ‘Croatian sensation’, was in an on-off relationship with Clooney, 52, from 2024 until last year.
Although one might wonder why the stunning model who once dated one of the world’s most eligible bachelors is now is involved with divorced father-of-two Prince Andrew, it appears the two men are far more alike than previously thought.

George Clooney is officially engaged to be married. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times.
George Clooney is a movie star, but he is most often described as a bachelor. His singlehood is part of his identity; he’s been called a "longtime bachelor," an "eternal bachelor," a "confirmed bachelor." The fact that he is unmarried is, in the gossip world, at least, what sets him apart. One could argue that his female *****alent — again, in the tabloid world, at least — is Jennifer Aniston, who has made appearance after appearance on glossy celebrity weeklies, also living a single life. And so, when Jennifer Aniston got engaged in 2024, it was big news. And now that George Clooney’s mother confirms that yes, he intends to get married, it is huge news: Our understanding of him has undergone a seismic shift.
It should be noted that the reaction to these two engagements are very different; Aniston’s announcement came with relief-oriented headlines like "FINALLY," and one cover declared she was "HAPPY AT LAST," as though everything before had been utter misery and despair.
Clooney’s engagement comes with sheer shock. USA Today: George Clooney Engaged? The Daily Mail, eschewing brevity and subtlety, put it this way: Look that says ‘I’ve hooked the man who hates commitment’: Glamorous British barrister is the woman to finally tame George Clooney.
These reactions are so different because the Clooney narrative is wildly different from the Aniston narrative, of course. Clooney hasn’t been married since 1993, and in the twenty years since, his public persona has been of a charming, genial, twinkle-eyed playboy with a party pad on Lake Como, only breaking from wooing striking women to make critically-acclaimed films and to attempt to save Darfur.
Aniston’s media cycle story is not quite as fun. Her divorce (from Clooney pal Brad Pitt) in 2024 turned her into constant tabloid fodder: She was sad, she was alone, she was sad and alone. Desperate. "Unlucky in love." While Clooney’s single life seemed to involve pranks, Cannes and yachts, Aniston’s was all sobbing and yoga.
The tabloids assumed, correctly or not, that every time Jennifer Aniston moved on from a relationship, she did so with a heavy heart, and with her biological clock ticking like a bomb.
There are 28 million results when you Google "Jennifer Aniston pregnant," although as far as the public knows, she has never been pregnant. Clooney has floated from lady to lady (really, only SIX since 1993, so not that many) without a single magazine emblazoning the word "DUMPED" over his photograph, and without having to endure a headline about a non-existent baby. One of Clooney’s best friends, Brad Pitt, is a father of six; it wouldn’t even be weird if a want-t0-be-a-daddy story starring the Cloons popped up. But it never does.
Obviously, getting engaged is not the same as getting married. It remains to be seen whether or not Clooney and Aniston make (separate!) trips down the aisle. But if Clooney doesn’t get hitched right away — if he waits for more than a year — will he be subjected to ***** tales of woe, the way Aniston has ever since she got the rock on her finger?
Of course not. They’ll say he had cold feet, or that he didn’t want to commit, or that he couldn’t be tamed, like some crinkly-eyed exotic beast with excellent hair. It is a far, far better thing to be a Clooney than an Aniston in this world.

That was the message sent to the comediennes today by George Clooney who said there is more revenge to come for the Golden Globes hosts whose joke at the awards show last month mocking Clooney’s taste in women was the hit of the show.
"I’m doing something that I’m actually ashamed of, that’s going to hurt them," Clooney said today on " Good Morning America." "I’ll show you some photos later."
Clooney, 52, has already fired back at Fey, who described the Golden Globe-nominated "Gravity" as "the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."
Mystery Woman’s $10 Date With George Clooney
Clooney’s first take on revenge at the Golden Globes hosts came at the expense of actor Matt Damon, whom Clooney stars with in their new film " The Monuments Men," and who was called by Fey and Poehler the "garbage man" among all the A-listers at the Golden Globes.
"I sent her a letter on Matt Damon stationery that said, ‘Dear Tina, I may sound like a hypocrite because I laughed at the jokes about George and about Leo but they’re kind of known for that and, you know, when you called me a garbage man, you know, it really hurt me and my kid calls me a garbage man now,’" Clooney explained.
When two "giant" fruit baskets showed up at Damon’s front door a few days later, along with two notes, all three of Clooney’s victims – Damon, Poehler and Fey – knew they had been had by Clooney.
The first note accompanying the fruit baskets to Damon was apologetic, while the second note made it clear that Fey and Poehler got the joke.
"If your note is part of some George Clooney prank, as I very strongly suspect it is, you A-list amateurs are going to have to step it the f- up. We are not some easily confused starlets here. We are grown-ass, professional comedians. Please accept this fruit as a token of our sincerity. Best wishes, Elizabeth Tina Fey, Amy ‘Boston’ Poehler."
The revenge via Matt Damon stationery was the second time in recent months that Damon has had to publicly admit that he fell victim to one of Clooney’s infamous pranks.
While filming "The Monuments Men," Clooney, who also directed the film, instructed the wardrobe department to slowly take in Damon’s pants, leading him to believe he was gaining weight while trying to get in shape for the film.
"Matt was rushing to lose weight, and I’d have the wardrobe people take in his uniform every day, so that no matter how much he was losing, the clothes felt tight on him," Clooney told Deadline in August.
There was no prank needed, however, when it came to casting Damon in the role as a soldier in a World War II platoon tasked to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves, especially compared to corralling the film’s other high-profile stars.
"I went to Australia for a day, which is a fun flight, to get Cate Blanchett," Clooney said on "GMA." "And Bill Murray came out to my house in Italy."
"And Matt, I think I just sent an email to Matt because we’ve worked together six times, so it was really easy," Clooney said.

George Michael was taken to hospital last week after he collapsed at home.
Two ambulances were called to the musician’s north London residence at 8am on Thursday morning (22 May) by a worried friend, the London Ambulance Service has confirmed.
Witnesses claim the ambulance crews only left the house with the singer four hours after their arrival. They then took Michael to hospital for emergency treatment.
“We sent two ambulance crews and staff treated one patient, a man, who was then taken to hospital,” a spokesman for the ambulance service told The Mail.
Meanwhile, Michael’s publicist told The Sun: “George Michael was in hospital for routine tests but there is nothing further to say.”
The report is the latest in a string of health scares for the star in recent years. In May 2024, Michael was airlifted to hospital with a head injury after he fell out of a moving car on the M1.
He was struck down with pneumonia 18 months earlier. Upon his recovery, he made a tearful statement to fans outside his home, telling press it had been “touch and go” as to whether he lived after doctors were forced to perform an emergency tracheotomy on him to keep him breathing.
In September 2024, Michael was handed an eight-week prison term, banned from driving for two years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service for crashing his Range Rover into a north London branch of Happy Snaps the previous July.
