Suge Knight got into a fight on the set of a film project in Compton, and ran over a man … and we’re told the victim is dead … and Suge fled the scene.
Multiple witnesses tell us some kind of shoot — possibly for a movie or ********ary — was going down with Game, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre when Suge pulled up in his car.
We’re told a fight broke out between Suge and 2 crew members. Suge got back into his car, took the wheel and threw the vehicle in reverse … and ran over a bystander.
It’s unclear at this point if the victim was connected to the film project.
Sources connected with Suge tell TMZ … the 2 men who fought Suge were the instigators. Our sources say Suge was scared because he’s in frail health — in addition to being shot 6 times last summer, he recently almost died from a blood clot.
Sources tell TMZ … the victim is Terry Carter, who we’re told is a friend of Suge’s. Another man was also hit … Cle "Bone" Sloane — who’s appeared in "Training Day" and "End of Watch" — suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Music producer Suge Knight has been injured during a shooting at an awards show party at a Los Angeles nightclub hosted by singer Chris Brown, it has been reported.
Witnesses said 25-year-old singer, who is still on parole following his recent release from jail, had been the target of shots fired at the 1oak club in West Hollywood.
Brown was thought to be unhurt, but three other victims – among them Death Row Records founder Knight, 49, were taken to the city’s Cedars Sinai hospital where one of them was said to be in a critical condition.
Model and actor Tyson Beckford, and Black Eyed Peas member Apple de Ap were inside the pre-VMA party hosted by Brown and told TMZ they had heard four shots being fired.
Knight was said to have walked out of the club, where he was spotted by a police officer and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The nature of his injuries were unknown.
The suspected gunmen were apprehended by police, as officers searched the nightspot for clues and quizzed revellers over the events of the night.
Roads around the nightclub were immediately sealed off by police, as the nightclub was evacuated, with several partygoers detained for questioning.
Katie Clendon, thought to have been inside the club, said via her Twitter account that she thought Brown had been the intended target.
‘Literally can’t believe what I just witnessed. Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless.’ She added: ‘Prayers to all those harmed by this. Honestly still in disbelief this happened.’

5:45 AM PT — Suge is out of surgery … according to family sources. We’re told Suge was shot 6 times. He’s currently in ICU, but is expected to recover.
Shots rang out at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood at around 1:30 AM Sunday … and Suge Knight was shot twice and taken to the hospital by ambulance where he’s currently in surgery … eyewitnesses and Suge’s family tell TMZ.
A source close to Suge tells us … he was shot in the stomach and arm.
Tyson Beckford,Robert Ri’chard and Apple de Ap all tell TMZ … they were inside the pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown when they heard 4 shots ring out inside the club.
Suge walked out on his own power … a cop spotted him and walked the rap mogul to the police car where Suge sat. Suge was then put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital.
