She’s often considered one of the most thoughtful and sensitive members of her family.
So it was no surprise that eyebrows were raised when waitress Blaine Morris claimed Kendall Jenner and her friend, Hailey Baldwin, purposely walked out on their bill and proceeded to throw money in Blaine’s face when the waitress chased up the outstanding money in New York last Monday.
But now a fresh report from TMZ claims the 18-year-old model is so outraged by Blaine’s version of events she is threatening to sue her.
The US ***site says they have obtained legal papers filed by Kendall’s lawyer and legal heavyweight Marty Singer, who explains what actually materialised.
According to Singer, the girls made an honest mistake and forgot to pay for their meal at Mercer Kitchen. However they were ‘extremely apologetic’ and immediately fronted the $33 bill on top of a $7 tip.
Furthermore Singer believes Blaine, who is an aspiring actress, may have embellished her account in a bid to increase her profile.
‘Although you are working as a waitress at Mercer Kitchen, I understand you are also a struggling actress. You no doubt concocted a fictionalised account of your encounter with my client in order to create publicity for yourself,’ the ***site claim Singer wrote.
On Wednesday Kendall took to Twitter to defend herself: ‘These rumors r absolutely ridiculous! I would never throw money in anyone’s face or act that disrespectfully. I was raised better than that [sic],’ she wrote, with Hailey quickly retweeting it.
The reality star added: ‘Said it once and I’ll say it again, don’t believe everything you read!’
She also re-tweeted family friend Jonathan Cheban’s post that said ‘Kendall would never do this’ with a link to an article saying the waitress’s story was fabricated.
According to Page Six, the duo became annoyed after they were refused alcohol and left the restaurant. Blaine apparently chased the celebrity offspring down only to have an annoyed Jenner throw cash in her face.
‘Kendall and Hailey started laughing,’ a witness told Page Six. ‘Kendall took a couple of $20 bills out of her wallet, threw them at the server and walked away.’
The waitress herself, who once appeared on MTV’s Skins, spoke out on Twitter about the alleged incident on August 4.
‘That horrible moment you chase a Kardashian down the street because she forgot to pay her bill to be thrown money in your face,’ she wrote.
However the waitress’s tweet does not indicate Kendall and Hailey knowingly walked out on the bill.
A rep for Baldwin told Page Six it was all a misunderstanding.
‘They thought everything was paid for,’ the rep said. ‘Kendall was polite and asked "Does this cover it?" They didn’t run.’
Reps for Jenner have thus far declined to comment on the matter.
