Actress Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem have roused the fury of Hollywood producers, with pledges made to snub the Spanish couple.
Oscar-winner Bardem and Cruz signed an open letter speaking against "the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation army".
The letter accused Israel of "advancing on Palestinian territories instead of withdrawing to the 1967 borders […] Gaza is living through horror… while the international community does nothing."
The Spanish letter was signed by 100 leading figures in the film industry, including director Pedro Almodovar.
One top producer who has worked with Cruz says he privately has vowed not to hire her again, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Another top Hollywood executive also privately expressed his disapproval, saying he’s "furious at Javier and Penelope" and wasn’t sure about working with the Spanish couple again.
Relativity Media chief executive Ryan Kavanaugh was the only studio head willing to go public with his views: "As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I know that anyone calling what’s going on in Israel ‘genocide’ vs. self-defense is either ignorant and shouldn’t be commenting or is truly anti-Semitic."
Cruz’s clarified that she only wished to promote “peace in both Israel and Gaza.” This was met with a “collective eye roll” by the top executives.
Bardem on the other hand wrote, “My signature was solely meant as a plea for peace. Destruction and hatred only generate more hatred and destruction.”
“While I was critical of the Israeli military response,” Bardem wrote, “I have great respect for the people of Israel and deep compassion for their losses. I am now being labelled by some as anti-Semitic, as is my wife (Cruz) – which is the antithesis of who we are as human beings. We detest anti-Semitism as much as we detest the horrible and painful consequences of war.”

I’ve been dyeing my hair a lighter shade of blonde since my teens but recently I noticed that I’m getting really gray and my hair is sort of two toned with very light ash blonde at the roots and top of my hair and darker blonde on the bottom few inches. Michele Bachmann Claims Gay People Have ‘Bullied The American People’
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is still not pleased with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s (R) decision to veto SB 1062 late last month.
In an interview with conservative radio host Lars Larson during last week’s Conservative Political Action Conference, Bachmann said the downfall of the bill, which would Have allowed businesses to refuse service to gay individuals on religious grounds, illustrated how LGBT activists Have "bullied" voters and politicians.
"There’s nothing about gays in there. But the gay community decided to make this their measure," Bachmann said. "I think the thing that is getting a little tiresome, the gay community, they Have so bullied the American people, and they’ve so intimidated politicians. The politicians fear them, so that they think they get to dictate the agenda everywhere."
Bachmann said, however, that liberals likely wouldn’t attempt to change the U.S. Constitution to "take away" religious rights because "activist judges" and President Barack Obama will simply ignore the ******** instead.
"He’s a lawless president who’s violating the Constitution with every executive order," Bachmann said of Obama
Bachmann had voiced her opposition to Brewer’s veto in an interview with ABC News & Yahoo’s "Fine Print" earlier this month.
“I was sorry that she made the decision, and it’s because I believe that tolerance is a two-way street and we need to respect everyone’s rights, including the rights of People who Have sincerely held religious beliefs," Bachmann said. "Right now, there’s a terrible intolerance afoot in the United States, and it’s against People who hold sincerely held religious beliefs."
The congresswoman, who is set to retire after this congressional session, has previously dismissed the issue of school bullies targeting gays.
"That’s not a federal issue," Bachmann said in 2024.

Mrs. Mohandas’ major milestone birthday coincides with the kids’ Spring break. So, what she has wanted as a present is to spend about 5 days touring wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The kids will be at home with her parents, so it’s just us two.
