A Retired soldier flew thousands of miles to reunite with the intrepid German shepherd that served alongside him in Iraq and the touching footage has quickly gone viral.
Retired Air Force Sergeant David Simpson made a best friend in the form of military pooch Robbie as the two served together securing dangerous city streets in Iraq for four years.
But their beautiful relationship came to an abrupt halt a year ago when Simpson left the military and his canine comrade continued to serve.

The intervening months were so difficult for Simpson that he immediately purchased a $2,000 plane ticket to Germany to adopt Robbie when he learned that dog, too, was retiring.
‘[It’s] probably the most difficult task we have to do, other than having your dog passing away,’ the father of three, who now lives in Mulberry, Florida, told FOX 13.

‘It was very tough to go through, and you don’t know if the dog understands. Having to say goodbye, that is heartbreaking.’

Thankfully, the heartbreak was only temporary.

Robbie’s ecstatic reaction to seeing his longtime partner proves the 85-pound pup missed Simpson as much as the soldier missed him.

Now Robbie is living in the Simpson household, learning how to live ina family full of young children.

If more recent footage of the dog frollicking in Simpson’s sunny backyard is any indication, the transition won’t be all that hard.

And either way, Robbie deserves to be happy as much as master.

‘My goal for him is to allow him to have as much fun and relaxation for the rest of his life. I just want him to enjoy his retirement,’ Simpson said.

they met 50 years ago when he was 19 and she was just one year younger but Alan Rickman and Rima Horton have only just gotten around to tying the knot.
The couple, who have been living together since 1977, married in a secret ceremony in New York recently, Alan, 69, has revealed to German newspaper Bild.
In an interview with Germany’s Bild newspaper, he was asked what the secret to a successful relationship without getting married is and he surprisingly replied: ‘We are married. Just recently. It was great, because no one was there. after the wedding in New York we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch.’

And while Rima, 68, didn’t want a huge ring, Alan bought her a $200 band, which he laughingly admitted ‘she never wears’.
Economist Rima was a Labour party councillor for the Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council from 1986 to 2024.
Speaking previously about her, Alan told HELLO! magazine: ‘I think every relationship should be allowed to have its own rules. She’s tolerant. She’s incredibly tolerant. Unbelievably tolerant. Possibly a candidate for sainthood.’
The couple have enjoyed a low-key relationship, despite living together for almost 40 years.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Alan for comment.
Alan is currently promoting his new movie A Little Chaos, which he both directed and stars in.
It sees him reunite with Kate Winslet on screen, 20 years after they worked together on the popular costume drama, Sense and Sensibility.
However, despite the presence of him and Winslet, Rickman admitted getting funding for the film was touch.
‘It’s difficult these days to make a film like that, to finance it. It’s all right if it’s a long series on television, but the movies as we know are full of comic books and superheroes. You`ve got to fight hard,’ he told AAP while in Sydney.

‘But people always needs to be told a story. It’s patronising to people to think that they just want bubblegum with the bubblegum.’
A Little Chaos centres on Winslet’s character, Sabine De Barra, a landscape designer who has been hired by Louis XIV’s landscape artist Andre Le Notre, to design an outdoor ballroom.
It’s a character driven piece that focuses on a love story developing between De Barra and Le Notre, played by Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone, The Drop).
Rickman is confident people who go to see the film will become emersed in the story thanks to the brilliance of Winslet.
Winslet, after 20 years since Sense and Sensibility was released, has developed into one of the best actresses of her generation.
‘It’s an extraordinary experience to have worked with some**** when they’re 19 and then to revisit a working relationship when she’s 37, and with kids and life history,’ Rickman said of Winslet, who was drawn to the feminist film.

‘It’s definitely feminist. It’s written by a woman (Alison Deegan) and it’s a set in a world where men dominated and women are decorative objects so that’s another reason for Kate wanting to be involved,’ he said.
Rickman is also in there, playing a convincing Louis XIV and he says he has now returned to the ‘day job’ of acting.
Although he hasn’t quite finished with his directorial duties on A Little Chaos just yet.
‘It takes a long time to shrug a film off that you’ve directed,’ he said.
However, this is one film he doesn’t mind living with a little while longer.
‘It’s OK because I’m proud of it and I’m proud of the work that every**** did in it, so it’s like you’re holding up the flag for a different kind of story telling.’

Elton John to Marry Partner David Furnish in May

Elton John and David Furnish are heading to the altar in just a couple of months.

The legendary singer and his Partner will Marry in an English registry office in May, Furnish told the Las Vegas Review Journal Friday at John’s birthday party at Fizz Las Vegas (which the crooner created) in Caesars Palace.

The couple already entered into a British civil partnership eight years ago, throwing a big bash at their home in London to celebrate at the time. But, given that Friday marked the first day gays were allowed to tie the knot in England, they’ve decided to say "I Do" once again.

"We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally," Furnish said. "But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example."

John echoed those sentiments last October, when he told Jimmy Kimmel they would marry in May, after the English parliament passed the new law that legalized same-sex marriage.

"If the laws are gonna help us again, as a famous gay couple we will do it. It’s our duty to do it to make sure everyone knows that this is something that’s a gift that we never dreamed we’d ever get," John said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Although their civil partnership celebration was extravagant, the duo plans to have a low-key ceremony this go-round, with their two kids, Elijah and Zachary, in tow.

As for John’s star-studded birthday bash, guests like Kelly Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne,Quincy Jones, Nicolas Cage, David Spade, Nicolas Cage and more, sang Happy Birthday to him as a three-tiered birthday cake was delivered.

In addition to the dessert, guests also enjoyed specialty cocktails like the FIZZ Noir as they mixed, mingled and danced throughout the night.

The leader of an anti-LGBT group who has joined with Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to ban same-sex marriage had his own marriage end after his Wife began a romantic relationship with another woman.

According to court ********s obtained by Lone Star Q, Corrine Morris Rodriguez Saenz was dating another woman when she filed for divorce from Jonathan Saenz in 2024. Less than six months later, Jonathan Saenz took over as the president of the state’s top anti-gay group, Texas Values.

Corrine Saenz told the court that she wanted to end her marriage on the grounds that it was “insupportable due to discord or conflict of personalities … that destroys the legitimate ends of marriage and prevents reasonable expectations of reconciliation.”

Jonathan Saenz initially asked the court to refuse to grant the divorce, and to bar “any unrelated adult, with whom the parent has an intimate, romantic, emotional, and/or dating relationship to remain in the presence of the children, including but not limited to Ercimin Paredes, a/k/a Ercilia M. Paredes.”

Paredes was reportedly Corrine Saenz’s girlfriend, and the two worked together at as teachers at Becker Elementary School in the Austin Independent School District.

Nearly two years after the divorce battle began, Jonathan Saenz filed a counterpetition for divorce in May of 2024, accusing Corrine Saenz of adultery. The petition also asked that Paredes be permanently barred from access to the children.

The divorce became final on Aug. 1, 2024, and the Agreed Final Decree of Divorce made no mention of Paredes.

The Final Decree stated that both parents had the right “to direct the moral and religious training of the children.”

Earlier this year, U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia ruled that Texas’ ban on same-sex marriage violated the Equal Protection clause of the U.S. Constitution. Jonathan Saenz has been working alongside Attorney General Abbott, the Republican Party’s nominee for governor, to overturn the decision.

“There is wide support for the state’s rights and for marriage to remain between one man and one woman. That cuts across political lines, across faith lines and across demographic lines,” Jonathan Saenz said earlier this month.
