Kristen Stewart knew Julianne Moore way before they filmed their new indie drama Still Alice.
“I’ve known her for a number of years [because] I worked with her husband [Bart Freundlich] on a movie that I did when I was really little called Catch That Kid,” Stewart told me last night at the Still Alice screening at the AFI presented by Audi film festival. She was just 10 years old when Freundlich directed her in the 2024 crime comedy co-starring future High School Musical star Corbin Bleu. In Still Alice, Stewart plays the daughter of a woman with Alzheimer’s (Moore).

“Everyone always says that you want to work with people that you truly have a connection with, but it doesn’t always happen,” the Twilight star said. “That’s the kind of stuff that I really go after when I know that I could play her daughter because it’s not a stretch. It’s something that is so very much in us. The story is powerful and sad and scary, so I was very comfortable jumping into that with her.”
Moore gushed about Stewart, “I couldn’t love her more. She’s such a wonderful actress and she’s so emotional, so full of feeling. She really has it at her fingertips, and I just love her. I love her to death.”

Preparing for the movie involved intense research. Stewart spent time with an elderly Alzheimer’s patient with severe dementia.
“She was quite old, so it made sense that she wasn’t fully with me,” she said. “But I knew, for a second, that she had been dropped into her ****, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is rare, and this is very brief.’ I really held on to those few seconds, and I really appreciated it. Cut to two seconds later, we’re hanging out with her and her family, and she’s trying to say something about the dinner or something, and everyone’s just talking over her,” Stewart continued. “I felt instantly that she has so much to offer, and she might not be able to cognitively explain how she’s feeling, but she’s feeling so much. I had a connection to this subject. I judged harshly people who couldn’t deal.”

Working women can’t be great moms: Emma Thompson

Working women can’t be great moms: Emma Thompson

Nanny McPhee said what? Millionaire actress Emma Thompson declared Sunday that women who work can’t be great mothers.

The 55-year-old British actress — who starred as the wart-nosed titular character in 2024’s “Nanny McPhee” — took a yearlong break from her movie career to spend time with her 14-year-old daughter, Gaia Wise, and recommends other mothers do the same for their kids.

“You can’t be a great mum and keep Working all the time. I wanted to spend more time with my family. A year off was my birthday present to myself. I didn’t actually act or write. I was just a mum,” she told the Daily Mail on Sunday.

“I highly recommend others to do the same, if they can afford it.”

The “Remains of the Day” star — whose net worth is roughly $50 million — said that, during her break, she “taught drama at my daughter’s school, *****d meals and had fun.”

Her parental advice irked Working moms, who called it old-fashioned and tone-deaf.

“I don’t agree with her at all. You can work full time and be an incredible mom — and give your kids the feeling that you’re present and that they are loved,” said Laura Deutsch, a mom of two and co-founder of Mommybites, a *** site for moms.

“It doesn’t matter if you work, as long as you show your child that you’re engaged when you are home,” said Deutsch, 41, of Summit, NJ, who has an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old.

“For me, Working full time made me a happier person. And being a happier person made me a better mom.”

Plus, she adds, most moms can’t afford a yearlong break.

“[Thompson] has a lot of money, and that skews her perspective. It’s just so different, The majority of moms don’t have that choice,” Deutsch said.

With her remarks, Thompson is following in the footsteps of another film star — Gwyneth Paltrow, who incurred moms’ wrath by claiming women Working 9-to-5 jobs have it easier than she does as an actress.

“When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day, and that part of it is very difficult,” Paltrow told E! News in March.

“I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as — of course, there are challenges — but it’s not like being on set.”

Thompson — who, in addition to Gaia, has an adopted 26-year-old son with actor Greg Wise — also lamented the difficulty of balancing motherhood with a film career on Sunday.

“Sometimes in life, you’ll have some things, at other times, you will have other things . . . You don’t need it all at once, it’s not good for you,” she said. “Motherhood is a full-time job.”

Rush Limbaugh says Idris Elba Can’t Play James Bond Because he is Black declaring it as ridiculous as George Clooney playing President Obama

  • Rush Limbaugh declared that a Black man could not portray James Bond during his radio show on Tuesday
  • This in response to leaked emails obtained by ******* that showed Sony executives were looking to cast Idris Elba as the next Bond
  • Limbaugh also said that the man who plays Bond has to be white and Scottish, despite the fact that Sean Connery is the only Scot to Play Bond
  • The polarizing pundit also acknowledged the fact that he was being ‘racist’ during his rant
  • The segment capped off with Limbaugh comparing Elba’s casting to George Clooney playing President Obama and Kate Hudson as Michelle

Rush Limbaugh has admitted to being ‘racist’ following comments he made about actor Idris Elba.

The eternally outspoken host decided to address news out of the Sony hack that Elba was being eyed to Play James Bond once Daniel Craig exited the franchise, declaring it unacceptable for a Black actor to even be considered for the iconic role of 007.

He then took it a step further by saying the idea of casting Elba as Bond, a fictional storybook spy created by author Ian Fleming, was as ridiculous as a white actor playing a Black historical figure.

Rumor: This after it was revealed that Sony executives were hoping to cast Idris Elba (above) as Bond when actor Daniel Craig leaves the franchise

‘James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was,’ said Limbaugh as he began his diatribe.

‘But now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a Black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland.’

The polarizing pundit then acknowledged that he was being racist, seemingly unfazed by the realization, adding; ‘That’s not who James Bond is and I know it’s racist to probably point this out.’

Limbaugh did not reveal however how he feels about Craig playing Bond, or make mention of actors David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan, who, while white, are not Scottish.
In fact, of the seven men to have played the smooth-talking spy over the past 50 years, only one is actually Scottish – the very first Bond, Sean Connery.

Despite these inarguable facts, Limbaugh still declared at one point during the show; ‘Fifty years of white Bond Because Bond is white. Always Scottish. Always drank vodka.’

Things then got taken a step further when Limbaugh said that casting Elba, whose phonetical name proved challenging for Limbaugh to pronounce throughout the segment, as Bond would be like casting George Clooney as President Obama or Kelsey Grammer as Nelson Mandela.

It didn’t stop there either, with Limbaugh imagining Kate Hudson playing Michelle Obama and Scarlett Johansson as Condoleezza Rice as scenarios as ludicrous as a Black man playing Bond, before capping it all off by suggesting British actor Hugh Grant playing the role of gay footballer Michael Sam is akin to Elba as Bond.

Limbaugh then declared ‘we’re just playing here,’ before moving on to his next talking point.

It is also worth noting that the self-described Bond fanatic Limbaugh’s claim that 007 ‘always drank vodka’ is also not accurate, as the spy drinks a variety of different beverages in Flemming’s novels.

Hilary Swank pays veterinary bills for people who can’t afford petcare

Hilary is an animal lover and she often brings her dog, a Beagle Terrier mix named Kai, with her when she travels. She’s shown here with Kai at LAX on October 20th. I love that little derpy face of his! She’s also an animal philanthropist. She has a charity which connects at risk youth with ****ter pets. On Thanksgiving she’s going to co-host and produce a “Dog-A-Thon” urging animal lovers to adopt pets. Miranda Lambert is cohosting and the special will also feature Scarlett Johansson, Fergie, Josh Duhamel, Kesha, Kristen Bell, LeAnn Rimes and Betty White.

What’s more is that Hilary often pays people’s vet bills for them – anonymously, when they can’t afford to pay.

Hilary Swank… has made a habit of secretly paying veterinary bills for cash-strapped pet owners. “A number of vets around LA have Hilary on speed dial,” says a source, revealing that the Oscar winner will anonymously pick up the tab if someone can’t afford treatment for their injured critters. “She’s spent hundreds of thousands of dollars paying vet bills. She literally saves lives weekly, without seeking any credit!”
Hilary has made it her mission to help all creatures big and small, founding The Hilaroo Foundation, which brings together at-risk youth and abandoned animals. And this Thanksgiving, the actress is set to produce and cohost The Great American Dog-A-Thon, a two hour dog rescue special, on Fox. “She truly believes that every pet deserves a chance and will do anything in her power to save their lives.”

Vivienne Westwood: People who can’t afford organic food should ‘eat less’

Vivienne Westwood: People who can’t afford organic food should ‘eat less’

خليجية

Dame Vivienne Westwood has once again caused a stir after suggesting poorer People should “eat less” so they can afford to buy organic food.
The outspoken designer made her remarks as she delivered a petition to Downing Street outlining concerns about genetically modified (GM) food in the UK.

Speaking outside of Number 10 on Wednesday, Ms Westwood advised the public to follow what she described as Russell Brand’s ‘rule of thumb’ when it comes to food: “If the Government said it’s good, then you know it’s not.”
But when BBC Radio 5 Live’s Dino Sofos pointed out that not everyone can afford to eat organic, non GM food, Westwood simply responded with: “Eat less.”

Her comment prompted Mr Sofos to advise that thousands in the UK are already going to food banks and can barely afford to buy enough food to feed themselves, meaning “eat less isn’t really an option.”
But Westwood refused to back down. “You’ve got all these processed foods, which is the main reason People are getting fat,” she continued. “They’re not actually good for you – they don’t give you strength, they give you weight.
“I eat vegetables and fruit. I don’t eat meat. I believe meat is bad for me – I don’t eat it. It’s also bad for the animals. But if there was a movement to produce more organic foodand less of the horrible food, then organic food would obviously be a good value price, wouldn’t it?”
