Breaking News
خليجيةApollo Nida — Husband of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks — has been charged with almost unbelievably bold Identity Theft … that has now landed him in a federal criminal case.

Nida apparently caught the eye of the Secret Service’s Counterfeit and U.S. Treasury Check Squad.

The alleged scheme is sinister. He supposedly created fake companies which then allowed him to access various data****s that had information about people whose Identity he flat out stole.

He then allegedly opened fake bank accounts in the ****s of the victims and then somehow got hold of stolen U.S. Treasury checks, stolen retirement checks from Delta Airline employees and checks that were supposed to go to people who had unclaimed tax money.

Nida has been charged with bank Fraud and Identity Theft and has already appeared in federal court.

And in case you didn’t know … Apollo’s wife, Phaedra, is a lawyer. That should come in handy.

The story was broken by Access Atlanta.

Police: Girl, charged with killing brother, abused for years

15 and 11-year-old sisters in Florida are accused of killing their 16-year-old brother. The older sister told investigators her brother beat her and locked her in her room, and the history of abuse goes back farther than that. VPC

WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. — One teenage girl accused of plotting to kill her older brother suffered years of physical abuse and was sexually abused by her uncle, authorities said Wednesday.
The 15-year-old Girl, whom USA TODAY is not identifying because the 3rd Circuit state attorney has not decided yet whether to charge her as an adult, allegedly shot her 16-year-old brother, Damien Kornegay, sometime Monday evening with a handgun retrieved from a locked room, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. She told investigators that she was angry her brother beat her up earlier that day and faces a charge of premeditated murder.
The siblings’ 11-year-old sister also is being held because she is accused of keeping watch while her older sister broke into the bedroom through a window to get the 9mm handgun, Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter said Wednesday. She, too, is not being identified because of her age and faces a charge of premeditated murder.
"We don’t have this in our community," Hunter said. "This is the stuff nightmares are made of."

The gun was unloaded but the teen loaded the weapon before shooting her brother, the sheriff said.
Police ********s released Wednesday said the 15-year-old’s uncle was convicted of molesting her in 2024. They also say the children’s mother at one point discovered the siblings having sex.
خليجيةKeith Kornegay, 37, of White Springs, Fla.(Photo: Columbia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office)

The children’s parents — Keith Kornegay, 37, and Misty Kornegay, 33 — had been away since Sunday, authorities said. They were arrested Tuesday, charged with child neglect causing great bodily harm and are accused of failing to properly supervise their children.
A judge set the parents’ bond at $20,000 Wednesday and ordered that they cannot have unsupervised contact with their children. The Florida Department of Children and Families has taken a 3-year-old boy also in their home into custody.
Police in White Springs, a town of about 800 people 70 miles west of Jacksonville, Fla., learned of the crime a little before 10 p.m. ET Monday after receiving a phone call from the mother of a friend of the 11-year-old. The girl told her friend that she had run away and needed someone to pick her up at a Dollar General store, according to a police report.
When the woman arrived she found the older sister there, too, who mentioned that something might be wrong with another sibling at home, the report said. Officers who responded talked to the teen.
As she spoke, she applied makeup and "would not maintain eye contact and appeared emotionless," according to their report.
خليجيةMisty Kornegay, 33, of White Springs, Fla.(Photo: Columbia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office)

But soon she started crying and told the officers that her brother had beaten her, thrown her into her bedroom, and locked the door. She told officers that when he went to sleep her younger sister unlocked the door.
The teen said she then shot her brother, according to the report.
Columbia County deputies, who were contacted to check the house, found Damien dead in the living room. The weapon was on a blanket in the hallway.
"For our community to have this, there’s going to be 100,000 whys," Hunter said. The older sister told investigators that at times for years she had been locked in a room with just a bucket and a blanket, and at one point one of the sisters had been removed from school.
The teen had told police that her parents were due to return around 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The children’s father is a trucker, Hunter said. And the children’s mother occasionally would accompany her husband on his hauls, leaving the youngsters under Damien’s supervision.

That was a contributing factor to charges being filed, the sheriff said.
"These kids are hurting," said Veronica Thomas, pastor of White Springs Congregational Holiness Church. She spoke to them soon after the shooting.
Columbia County is home to about 70,000 residents and hasn’t had a homicide in more than a year, officials said.
Because the children’s parents also are under arrest — all had their first appearances in court scheduled Wednesday — any of the siblings who might be released from state custody can’t return home now.
Children arrested for crimes and treated as juveniles can be held in detention for a maximum of 21 days under Florida law but the judge has granted an extra nine days in this case.
"I may be forced to actually charge them as adults to hold them in juvenile detention until I can work something out," said Jeff Siegmeister, 3rd Circuit state attorney. "I don’t know all of the facts yet."

Olympic figure skater turned commentator Johnny Weir managed to keep a major secret as he hosted television coverage of the Sochi Olympics. As RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned, 29-year-old Weir was involved in an Domestic violence Dispute With his Husband that had its courtroom sequel on Tuesday morning.

About a monthbefore the games in Russia, Weir’s husband, Victor Voronov, filed a police report in which he Alleged the three-time U.S. national champion of Biting him, a source revealed.

Despite the allegations, the couple appeared to have worked out their differences: Radar was in a Lyndhurst, New Jersey, courtroom on Tuesday morning, where the pair put on a united front and requested the Lyndhurst Municipal Court judge to dismiss the case.

Sitting next to each other, Voronov put his hand on Weir’s knee and whispered into his ear before the case begun.

When Weir approached the bench in an unusually subdued black ensemble, the judge took note of Weir’s impeccable style and apparent celebrity status, remarking: “Nice hairdo!”

Without stating any specifics about the case and charges, the judge asked if the “victim” was present and ordered Voronov to approach the bench.

Voronov asked the judge to dismiss the case – and the dismissal was granted.

When Radar approached Weir — who starred in his Sochi coverage for NBC — outside the courthouse, he said: “It is a private matter I do not wish to discuss.”

Likewise, Voronov refused to comment, as he and Weir hurriedly hopped into an awaiting car together.

Local police and court officials refused to disclose more details, citing confidentiality because the incident was a Domestic violence incident.

Weir married Voronov – a Georgetown Law graduate – in December 2024 and recently spoke about their dynamic relationship.

“A marriage between two guys is different than what I imagine a marriage between a man and a woman [to be],” he told Access Hollywood in February. “I mean, we’re both constantly trying to fight to wear the pants in the relationship.

“It’s constant fireworks,” Weir added. “It’s very boom, boom, boom.”

He and the rest of the crew had just arrived in the city to rehearse for Minaj’s tour, which is supposed to begin in Europe this month.
Fellow crew member Eric Parker, 27, was also stabbed in the attack, but was expected to survive his injuries.

Boykin, 31, was originally charged with attempted murder of Parker, but Clark says the murder charge was tacked on after additional evidence pointed to Boykin for both stabbings.
According to NBC 10, the argument began inside Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood.
‘We believe that both of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, were all inside of this bar and that’s when an argument started,’ said Chief inspector Scott Small.

South Carolina trooper charged, shot man – seat belt violation

One of those stories that just really pissed me off.

COLUMBIA, SC — An S.C. trooper who stopped a man for a seat belt violation outside Columbia and then shot him – apparently without provocation – was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Sean Groubert, 31, a lance corporal who was fired from the Highway Patrol after the shooting incident, now faces 20 years in prison if convicted of wrongfully shooting the driver, Levar Jones.

Groubert was booked Wednesday evening at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He was fired from the patrol last Friday.

Wednesday night, in a hearing at the jail, Magistrate Ethel Brewer set Groubert’s bond at $75,000.

A video of the Sept. 4 shooting incident was played at Groubert’s bond hearing.
The video shows Groubert firing repeatedly at Jones, who was not armed and who was not behaving aggressively. Jones was struck at least once, in the hip. He spent time in the hospital and is now out of the hospital recuperating.

COLUMBIA, SC: VIDEO RELEASED: SC trooper charged with felony in shooting at traffic stop over seat belt violation | Crime | The State

Sean Groubert, South Carolina State Trooper, Fired & Arrested After Shooting Unarmed Man

A South Carolina state trooper was fired last week and arrested on Wednesday after a dashcam video showed him shooting an unarmed man during a routine traffic stop.
Former officer Sean Groubert, 31, is seen in the newly released video pulling over Levar Edward Jones. The clip, which was recorded on Groubert’s dashcam on Sept. 4, shows Jones getting out of his vehicle at a gas station in Columbia.
Groubert asks Jones for his driver’s license. As Jones reaches into his vehicle to retrieve it, Groubert shouts, "Get out of the car!"

When Jones complies and starts to back away from the vehicle, Groubert opens fire. Three shots can be heard; Jones was hit at least once, in the hip.
"I was just getting my license," Jones says. He also apologizes repeatedly, and asks, "Sir, why was I shot? All I did was reach for my license. I’m coming from work."
"Well, you dove head-first back into your car," Groubert says. "Then you jumped back out, I’m telling you to get out of your car."

Groubert was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, a felony which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, according to a news release from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The complaint states that Groubert "did without justification unlawfully shoot Levar Jones which produced great bodily injury or was likely to cause great bodily injury. Audio and visual recordings, as well as written statements, obtained are further evidence to indicate the shooting incident was without justification."
South Carolina Department of Public Safety Director Leroy Smith called the case disturbing.

"After my review of the facts surrounding this matter, I have determined that Mr. Groubert’s actions rose to such an extent that his employment with us must be terminated," Smith said in a statement last week. "While Mr. Groubert was within the law to stop Mr. Jones for a safety belt violation, the force administered in this case was unwarranted, inconsistent with how our troopers are trained, and clearly in violation of Department policies."

Groubert pleaded not guilty and is free after posting a $75,000 bond, according to WIS-TV. He’s expected to appear in court on Oct. 24.
Jones was hospitalized for the hip injury, but has since been released. He told WIS that he hopes the incident will lead to change throughout the country.

WASHINGTON — A white police Officer in North Charleston, S.C., was Charged With Murder on Tuesday after a video surfaced showing him shooting in the back and killing an apparently unarmed Black man while the man ran away.
The officer, Michael T. Slager, 33, said he feared for his life because the man took his stun gun in a scuffle after a traffic stop on Saturday. A video, however, shows the Officer firing eight times as the man — Walter L. Scott, 50 — fled. The North Charleston mayor announced the state charges at a news conference Tuesday evening.
The shooting comes on the heels of high-profile instances of police officers using lethal force in New York, Cleveland, Ferguson, Mo., and elsewhere around the country. The deaths have set off a national debate over whether the police are too quick to use force, particularly in cases involving Black men.
Continue reading the main storyA White House task force has recommended a host of changes to the nation’s police policies, and President Obama dispatched Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., to cities around the country to try to improve police relations With minority neighborhoods.

Officer Michael T. SlagerNorth Charleston is South Carolina’s third-largest city, With a population of about 100,000. African-Americans make up about 47 percent of residents, and whites account for about 37 percent. The Police Department is about 80 percent white, according to data collected by the Justice Department in 2024, the most recent period available.
“When you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” Mayor Keith Summey said of the shooting during the news conference. “And if you make a bad decision, don’t care if you’re behind the shield or just a citizen on the street, you have to live by that decision.”
The shooting unfolded after Officer Slager stopped the driver of a Mercedes-Benz With a broken taillight, according to police reports. Mr. Scott ran away, and Officer Slager chased him into a grassy lot that abuts a muffler shop. He fired his Taser, an electronic stun gun, but it did not stop Mr. Scott, according to police reports.
Moments after the struggle, Officer Slager reported on his radio, “Shots fired and the subject is down. He took my Taser,” according to police reports.
But the video, which was taken by a bystander and provided to The New York Times by the Scott family’s lawyer, presents a different account. The VIDEO begins in the vacant lot, apparently moments after Officer Slager fired his Taser. Wires, which carry the electrical current from the stun gun, appear to be extending from Mr. Scott’s **** as the two men tussle and Mr. Scott turns to run.
Something — it is not clear whether it is the stun gun — is either tossed or knocked to the ground behind the two men and Officer Slager draws his gun, the VIDEO shows. When the Officer fires, Mr. Scott appears to be 15 to 20 feet away and fleeing. He falls after the last of eight shots.

The Officer then runs back toward where the initial scuffle occurred and picks something off the ground. Moments later, he drops an object near Mr. Scott’s ****, the VIDEO shows.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the state’s criminal investigative ****, has begun an inquiry into the shooting. The F.B.I. and the Justice Department, which has opened a string of civil rights investigations into police departments under Mr. Holder, is also investigating.
Photoخليجية

For several minutes after the shooting, Mr. Scott remained face down With his hands cuffed behind his back. The Supreme Court has held that an Officer may use deadly force against a fleeing suspect only when there is probable cause that he “poses a significant threat of Death or serious physical injury to the Officer or others.”
Officer Slager served in the Coast Guard before joining the force five years ago, his lawyer said. The police chief of North Charleston did not return repeated calls. Because police departments are not required to release data on how often officers use force, it was not immediately clear how often police shootings occur in North Charleston, a working-class community adjacent to the tourist destination of Charleston.

Mr. Scott had been arrested about 10 times, mostly for failing to pay child support or show up for court hearings, according to The Post and Courier newspaper of Charleston. He was arrested in 1987 on an assault and battery charge, and convicted in 1991 of possession of a bludgeon, the newspaper reported. Mr. Scott’s brother, Anthony, said he believed Mr. Scott fled from the police on Saturday because he owed child support.
”He has four children; he doesn’t have some type of big violent past or arrest record,” said Chris Stewart, a lawyer for Mr. Scott’s family. “He had a job; he was engaged. He had back child support and didn’t want to go to jail for back child support.”
Mr. Stewart said the coroner told him that Mr. Scott was struck five times — three times in the back, once in the upper buttocks and once in the ear — With at least one bullet entering his heart. It is not clear whether Mr. Scott died immediately. (The coroner’s office declined to make the report available to The Times.)
Police reports say that officers performed CPR and delivered first aid to Mr. Scott. The VIDEO shows that for several minutes after the shooting, Mr. Scott remained face down With his hands cuffed behind his back. A second Officer arrives, puts on blue medical gloves and attends to Mr. Scott, but is not shown performing CPR. As sirens wail in the background, a third Officer later arrives, apparently With a medical kit, but also not seen performing CPR.
The debate over police use of force has been propelled in part by videos like the one in South Carolina. In January, prosecutors in Albuquerque Charged two police officers With Murder for shooting a homeless man in a confrontation that was captured by an officer’s **** camera. Federal prosecutors are investigating the death of Eric Garner, who died last year in Staten Island after a police Officer put him in a chokehold, an incident that a bystander captured on video. A video taken in Clevelandshows the police shooting a 12-year-old boy, Tamir Rice, who was carrying a fake gun in a park. A White House policing panel recommended that police departments put more video cameras on their officers.
Mr. Scott’s brother said that his mother called him on Saturday, telling him that his brother had been shot by a Taser after a traffic stop. “You may need to go over there and see what’s going on,” Anthony Scott said his mother told him. When he arrived at the scene of the shooting, officers told him that his brother was dead, but he said they had no explanation for why. “This just doesn’t sound right,” he said in an interview. “How do you lose your life at a traffic stop?”
Anthony Scott said he last saw his brother three weeks ago at a family oyster roast. “We hadn’t hung out like that in such a long time,” Mr. Scott said. “He kept on saying over and over again how great it was.”
At the roast, Mr. Scott got to do two of the things he enjoyed most: tell jokes and dance. When one of Mr. Scott’s favorite songs was played, he got excited. “He jumped up and said, ‘That’s my song,’ and he danced like never before,” his brother said.
