Jared Leto on living in the South: ‘We escaped early on… it’s very oppressive’

Jared Leto is once again proving how friggin’ cool he is. In the new issue of FourTwoNine magazine, the Dallas Buyers Club Oscarwinner says he doesn’t mind if you called him “queer.”
When the mag’s editor-in-chief Kevin Sessums mentions that some of his “straight friends have begun to define themselves as queer without it being a sexual term but a cultural one,” he goes on to ask Leto and his brother Shannon Leto if they’d be “averse” to having the same label.

“I wouldn’t care,” Shannon said. Jared added, “I don’t think we’d care at all. We certainly identify with people who are different.”
That differentness is one of the reasons the Leto brothers’ band, 30 Seconds to Mars, has attracted such a large LGBT fan ****.
“I got a note from a kid yesterday,” Jared said. “We were signing a thousand CDs after a show. If you looked at him, he looked like any young kid maybe in twelfth grade or eleventh grade who’d be on the ****ball team or something. A nice looking kid. He handed me a note and it said, ‘I just want to say thanks so much for the music. it’s helped me in many ways–especially with coming out this year to my family.’”
And to think the Letos were born in the not-always LGBT-friendly south.

“We escaped early on,” Jared said. “It’s very oppressive.” He further explained, “We would go back for the summers and stay with our grandmother, though. So the culture was always there that we returned to. We moved around every couple of years growing up. Way up to north Massachusetts. Everywhere. But no matter where we were it was a very creative environment around artists. That is obviously an important reason that Shannon and I are pursuing the path that we are now.”

‘She was so thin’: Angelina Jolie ‘didn’t eat much’ when she directed Unbroken movie to support dieting actors

Director Angelina Jolie ‘didn’t eat much’ on the set of Unbroken as she wanted to support dieting actors on set, according to Japanese actor Miyavi.
The star, who plays a ruthless prisoner of war in the brutal film, told RadioTimes.com that the actors playing inmates had to lose a lot of weight to reflect the harsh conditions of life in captivity.
She showed her support, by abstaining too, with Myavi telling the site: ‘She came to the set every day, giving advice to the actors, and she actually didn’t eat much [either].

‘She was so thin because most of the actors were not able to eat because they’re prisoners in the prison camp. So she was so close to us.’
Angelina Jolie’s new film Unbroken sees lead actor Jack O’Connell, who is best known for his role in Skins, portray the incredible story of Louis Zamperini.
The former Olympic star spent 47 days drifting in the Pacific after his plane came down during WWII and was rescued by Japanese troops and imprisoned in a war camp.

Jack added: ‘I really respect her professionalism, her attitude towards the creation – she’s so determined and passionate. It was intense on set but with her motivation and attitude we were on the same page.’
The actor revealed that Jolie tried out all of his stunts, which included spending hours supporting the weight of a heavy wooden plank above his head.
‘She did test out all of my stunts before I had to do them. The plank – I’m not sure if that can be regarded as a stunt – but, in any case, she was under it before I turned up on set.

Hero: Louis Zamperini (right) passed away in July this year aged 97 but lived long enough to see a final cut of the film

‘I fainted twice. It’s quite a pinnacle moment. I didn’t actually hit the deck – it was one of those faints where my head had gone but my hands were still in front of me.
‘But I had no vision, couldn’t really hear anything and then just gradually gained both of those senses back and then went back under [the plank]. And no surprise, the same problem happened.’
Louis Zamperini passed away in July this year aged 97 but lived long enough to see a final cut of the film.
‘I heard he liked my hair and my run,’ says O’Connell.
‘So as long as those two factors are in place. No acting notes but I guess no news is good news.’
Unbroken is slated for release on December 26.

James Franco Calls Out Story About Him Living With Actor Scott Haze as "Homophobic Scoop"
خليجية

James Franco is not the type to sit back and keep quiet.

The Actor took to Instagram today to call out Gawker (again) for an article he referred to as "homophobic scoop," after it highlighted a New York Times article that said Franco lives With a man (friend and co-star Scott Haze, to be exact).

"But theirs is the kind of relationship—somewhat ambiguous, seemingly gay, probably romantic—that almost always sends The New York Times into a bizarre moral panic," the article read.

So, Franco poked fun at the Story on his Instagram by posting a screenshot With the caption, "GAWKER – always getting the cutting edge, homophobic scoop!!! Go see CHILD OF GOD in theaters and see me direct my live-in boyfriend, Scott HAZE!!! Love you SCOTT!!!!"

The Gawker article was sparked by Franco’s interview With the New York Times, in which he promoted his latest film Child of God alongside Haze during a night out With writer Jacob Bernstein.

"Mr. Haze and Mr. Franco met About a decade ago when they were acting students in Los Angeles. They are now so close that describing them merely as friends would be a disservice," the article stated, and ended by noting, "By now, it was 12:30 a.m. and Mr. Franco was clearly fading. An assistant pointed him and Mr. Haze to two waiting town cars. Mr. Franco expressed surprise, since they needed only one. ‘We live in the same place,’ he said."

Franco’s sexuality has been a topic of conversation for quite some time now, and he doesn’t mind it one bit.

Last year, the Pineapple Express star told The Daily Beast during an interview that hewishes he was gay. "’Great! Bring on the gay jokes! because these aren’t insults at all,’" he began to say referencing his roast that occured at the time, "I don’t even care if people think I’m gay, so it was like, ‘Awesome!’ I mean, I wish I was…I wish I was gay."
