During an interview on a Chicago radio station the R&B singer seemed to imply that Jay’s coming out had been a *****ly reported rumour – despite the fact he’d come out personally in a blog post via his Ask.FM account

When questioned about the news the 47-year-old singer told Chicago’s WCGI interviewer: ‘You don’t really wanna open it up by saying my daughter is becoming my son,’

‘Because if that were true..’

The interviewer interrupted and explained that she is quoting blogs to which R. Kelly replied: ‘Don’t even give the blogs that kind of credit. You know what I’m saying? Real talk.’

‘But as far as that is concerned,’ he continued. ‘Always believe what you see with your own eyes that is. Always believe what you see. That is the best way to go about this business.

Proud: Jay Kelly, whose father is singer R. Kelly, has revealed that he is female-to-male Transgender and living as a boy. He said that he is not close to his father and they have not spoken about his announcement

‘And I’ve heard a lot of things about a lot of people and it was never true.’

‘You gotta know there’s a back story. There’s a background. That’s why you can’t judge no****.’

Kelly then diverted the subject to talking about his divorce and selling his home saying: ‘You save money so your kids can go to college – no matter what they are or who they are. They’re your kids, you gotta support them.’

‘I have three lovely, lovely kids that I am in love with and that’s in love with me.’

Earlier this month Jaya, the youngest of the singer’s three children with his ex-wife Andrea Kelly revealed that his singer dad has yet to speak to him since the revelation.

Responding to questions on his Ask.fm profile, Jay explained that although he was born biologically female, he has identified as a male since he was ‘6 or 7’ and that his mother has known for a year.

His mom who is the star of reality series ‘Hollywood Exes’, has been supportive of his transition and has proudly shared pictures of them together online.

‘My mom was like, "Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, lesbian, you name it and I would still love you so much",’ he wrote.

‘She was very proud of me, I was like, "Thank you mom for accepting the fact that I’m a transgender".’

‘And same with my sister, she told me that she was proud of me, and respects me by calling me handsome and calling me her little brother now, and I love her for that, so you know it was great for me.’

He added that he is eager to undergo the gender realignment operations but that he knows he’ll have to wait for several years.

Russia says drivers must not have ‘sex disorders’

Russia has listed transsexual and transgender people among those who will no longer qualify for driving licences.
Fetishism, exhibitionism and voyeurism are also included as "mental disorders" now barring people from driving.

The government says it is tightening medical controls for drivers because Russia has too many road accidents.

"Pathological" gambling and compulsive stealing are also on the list. Russian psychiatrists and human rights lawyers have condemned the move.

The announcement follows international complaints about Russian harassment of gay-rights activists.

In 2024 Russia made "promoting non-traditional lifestyles" illegal.

Valery Evtushenko at the Russian Psychiatric Association voiced concern about the driving restrictions, speaking to the BBC Russian Service. He said some people would avoid seeking psychiatric help, fearing a driving ban.

The Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights called the new law "discriminatory". It said it would demand clarifications from the Russian Constitutional Court and seek support from international human rights organisations.

But the Professional drivers Union supported the move. "We have too many deaths on the road, and I believe toughening medical requirements for applicants is fully justified," said the union’s head Alexander Kotov.

However, he said the requirements should not be so strict for non-professional drivers.

Mikhail Strakhov, a Russian psychiatric expert, told BBC Russian that the definition of "personality disorders" was too vague and some disorders would not affect a person’s ability to drive a car safely.

A 16-year-old Transgender girl from northern San Diego County who spoke on YouTube about being bullied at school has reportedly taken her own life.

Taylor Alesana, a student at Fallbrook High School, committed suicide last week, according to the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in Oceanside.

Taylor made a name for herself on YouTube, where she posted makeup tutorials and spoke of intense cyberbullying and the loneliness she experienced because of her gender identity.

"I’ve lost tons of friends, tons," she said in a video posted in November. "And it’s been hell. I go to school every day, and I get my lunch and I sit down alone."

Taylor is the second teenager who attended youth support groups at the North County LGBTQ Resource Center to commit suicide in recent weeks, said the center’s executive director, Max Disposti. Letters and artwork mourning the loss of a teenager named Sage – who killed himself in early March – are still displayed in the center, Disposti said.

"We’re devastated," Disposti said.

Disposti said he has been in close contact with Taylor’s family and was planning a candlelight vigil for her. Taylor spoke openly about her struggles at school – which continued after she told school staff – and Disposti worried about her, he said.

"She was happy to be who she was but was struggling with the fact that people didn’t accept her," Disposti said. He hoped other students would learn that "it’s not OK to make fun of someone because their gender identity is different from what they were assigned at birth."

"Transgender kids know who they are," Disposti said. "They are not confused. They are not struggling with their gender identity."

In a statement released Wednesday, Fallbrook High School referred to a student who "tragically passed away during the spring break" on April 2. The statement did not name Taylor.

"We are attempting to honor the family’s request for privacy while also helping our students and staff who have been impacted by this sad event," the school said, adding that it had counselors on site and "a continuum of appropriate services … to ensure every student is supported and successful."

Taylor spoke on YouTube about wearing headphones when she walked through the hallway and about bouncing between friend groups.

In her first video posted in October, in which she spoke straight into a camera with a poster of Marilyn Monroe taped on the wall behind her, Taylor said she had recently moved to Fallbrook with her family and was starting her transition. She showed off a pink button on her purse that said "She Her Hers" – her preferred pronouns, she said.

"I feel for anyone that’s even just a little bit different," she said, nodding. "They know what bullying is like."

In a later video, she was defiant: "My biggest advice to anyone who’s Transgender and struggling? You’re becoming yourself."

On Thursday, Twitter users mourned Taylor’s death using the hashtag #HerNameWasTaylor.

"Taylor was a beautiful and courageous girl, and all she wanted was acceptance," the North County LGBTQ Resource Center said in a statement, urging schools to "teach inclusiveness and acceptance" and to "get educated on gender identity and sexual orientation."

*R.I.P Taylor .. what a beautiful young lady and a beautiful soul. My thoughts are with all her family, friends and supporters.
