Kristen Scott Thomas: aging actresses are ‘invisible & that’s never going to change’

Kristin Scott Thomas told Sophie Raworth that ageism in Hollywood was a “disaster”, and that female actors are still losing out on roles to younger ones. “I won’t bore you with all the stories of older women not getting jobs in film because it’s so boring. But it’s true – it’s a disaster,” she said on BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show on Sunday.
When Raworth asked the 54-year-old actor why she thought it was boring, Scott Thomas replied: “Because it’s never going to change. Until the average life-span is 150 years or something, I don’t think women in their 50s are going to be considered at all viable. I think that’s what it is,” she said. “Sorry.”

Scott Thomas has spoken about watching herself age on screen in the past. In 2024, she said: “When you’re my age, you’re invariably in a supporting role, so there’s often a young woman in her twenties or early thirties who is the lead, and you’re constantly put next to them. You’re watching yourself get old, on a screen that hides nothing.”
She added that she would consider a face-lift, and said that women of her age became “invisible” to society.

Thinking about going grey

I have/had brown hair, and some years ago it developed a dead white patch right in the front, just like a skunk. I didn’t want to look like a skunk so I started to color it.

Now it has been colored for many years, which requires a lot of maintenance, and I’m not sure I want to keep it up anymore so I’ve left it alone for a couple of months to see what is its real color. Kind of a mangy brindle brown/grey/patchwork blah. In my 20’s I had such beautiful hair…..:( I got used to seeing brown hair, I envision myself as a person with brown hair. I don’t know what I look like without brown hair.

Any**** else stop coloring their hair after such a long time and gone to natural brindle – some grey, some brown, some white, and just let it go? My hair is long and I keep it put up.

I can’t decide.

Paris Hilton’s younger brother Conrad Hilton was just Arrested in L.A. for allegedly Going insane on an international flight back in July … and getting violent with flight attendants … TMZ has learned.

According to officials, multiple witnesses on the Plane say the 20-year-old went Berserk on a flight from London to L.A. … and began screaming and threatening flight attendants.

According to witnesses, Conrad was heard yelling the following things during his meltdown:

— "If you wanna square up to me bro, then bring it and I will f*cking fight you."
— "I am Going to f*cking kill you."
— "I will f*cking rip through you."
— "I will f*cking own anyone on this flight; they are f*cking peasants."

Witnesses say … at one point during the flight, Conrad was ferociously punching the bulkhead of the Plane … 10 centimeters from a flight attendant’s face.

Witnesses also say they could smell weed seeping out of the bathroom … and believe Hilton was the culprit.

Conrad was allegedly so out of control, children on the Plane were crying.

At one point, Conrad fell asleep … and the captain authorized crew members to restrain him to his seat for the descent. Conrad was ultimately handcuffed to his seat.

Witnesses told officials Conrad grabbed a flight attendant’s shirt and said, "I could get you all fired in 5 minutes. I know your boss! My father will pay this out. He has done it before. Dad paid $300k last time."

According to ********s obtained by TMZ, Hilton admitted to taking a sleeping pill before the flight and then bragged that he "buried" the flight attendants.

"I told all of them I could get all of their jobs taken away in less than 30 seconds."

We just spoke with Hilton’s attorney Robert Shapiro — yes, that Robert Shapiro — who confirms Conrad took a sleeping pill before the flight and he wasn’t himself.

Shapiro says there are numerous news reports and cases of people experiencing adverse effects, including aggressive outbursts … and he’s suggesting that’s what happened here.

Roseanne Barr Reveals She’s Going Blind

Roseanne Barr is Going blind. The 62-year-old comedian revealed to the Daily Beast at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, April 20, that her “vision is closing in.”

"I have macular degeneration and glaucoma,” the Roseanne show alum told the news site of the medical condition that ultimately leaves you blind. “I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible, you know? Living it up. My dad had it, too,” Barr explained, adding that she’ll miss reading but has thought about hiring someone to “read for me and read to me.”

The Roseanne’s Nuts star, who has been vocal about wanting to legalize marijuana and smokes on camera in her ********ary Roseanne For President!, said she’s turned to the drug to self-medicate.
“[Marijuana is] good for me for that because I have pressure in my eyes,” she explained. “[Marijuana is a] good medicine for a lot of things.”
“It’s expansive,” she touted of the drug. “It opens your mind. You’re like…Wow, you’re in awe. You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn’t close that down.”
