Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore’s half-sister has been ‘found dead’ from a suspected suicide in California just days before her birthday.

Jessica Barrymore, 47, was found dead in her car yesterday from a suspected suicide

Marta Lopez made the discovery when she tried to leave for work but was blocked in her driveway by Ms Barrymore’s car, 10News reported.

She unsuccessfully tried to wake Ms Barrymore, who was to turn 48 tomorrow, before calling the police.

Ms Barrymore’s cause of death is yet to be determined, but an autopsy is scheduled.

Ms Barrymore is the daughter of actor John Drew Barrymore – who is also the father of the Charlie’s Angels actress – and his third wife Nina Wayne.
The Barrymore family is yet to comment on the death.
According to her Facebook page, Ms Barrymore attended the San Diego School of Creative Arts and lives in San Marcos.

In a cryptic last message on her profile page on July 28, Ms Barrymore shared a post from Mystera Magazine that said: ‘Life doesn’t always introduce you to the people you want to meet.
‘Sometimes, life puts you in touch with the people you need to meet to Help You, to Hurt You, to Guide You, to Leave You, to Love You, and to gradually Strengthen You into the Person You Were Meant to Become.’
Before becoming one of Hollywood’s leading stars, Drew Barrymore had a well-********ed battle with drugs and alcohol in her teenage years and has often spoken about her strained family life.

In her autobiography Little Girl Lost, published when she was 14, Drew wrote, ‘I had my first drink at age nine, began smoking marijuana at ten and at 12 took up cocaine.’

By 13 she was in rehab and following a suicide attempt and a further stint in rehab, at 15 she successfully petitioned for emancipation from her parents.

Her father John was an alcoholic and abandoned Drew and her mother when she was a baby and was in and out of jail on drugs charges before he died of cancer.
And her mother Jaid, who struggled as an actress, took her to nightclubs when she was just eight, and to auditions before she was a year old. Drew has described the relationship as ‘my greatest battle’.

And the Barrymore’s relationship with substance abuse doesn’t end there. Drew’s grandfather, the legendary actor John Barrymore, died from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver aged 60.

It went up for sale 2 years ago at 50 mil and didn’t sell. Now marked down to $24.9 million. Designed by modernist architect John Lautner (but with none of the charm of Silvertop I think).

Thanks to "Sister Sister" star Tia Mowry we now know why some celebs can’t stop Tweeting — because they can make a bloody fortune doing it … but Mowry claims she got bamboozled out of her Earnings by a double-dealing agent.

Tia filed a lawsuit — obtained by TMZ — which shows she made deals to send Sponsored Tweets for certain companies … deals that were supposed to have paid her more than $108,000!!

But according to the suit … the agent she hired to handle her Twitter deals soaked her for far more than the 10% commission to which he was entitled — and instead took more than Half of the Tweet deal cash.

Mowry says she’s been cheated out of nearly $60K. She’s suing for that, plus another $120K in punitive damages.

America has awakened to the harsh reality of winter today after arctic air blasted 49 states with freezing temperatures and dumped an incredible five feet of Snow on parts of the Great Lakes in just a few hours.

In western New York, authorities were forced to close down the New York State Thruway after Snow piled up by the foot overnight.

More than three feet of Snow has fallen in and around Buffalo, New York. Watertown, New York, has been hit almost as hard. Nearly two feet has piled up in northern Wisconsin. Northern and western Michigan expects one to two feet.

Dozens of drivers were stranded and officials declared a state of emergency in Buffalo and the surrounded suburbs. Authorities were enforcing a travel ban and urging residents to stay home, according to the Buffalo News.

In Northeast Ohio, temperatures hit record lows for November as wind chills dropped to -8 degrees. Lows in Chicago dropped to 12 degrees with a wind chill of -6.

Record lows: Tuesday’s lows were poised to bring historic chills to the South with temperatures dropping below freezing as far south as Houston and even Florida’s panhandle feeling the wallop of early winter

On Monday, parts of Upstate New York experienced thundersnow, the rattling early winter phenomenon, and could see it again.

Accuweather meteorologist Tom Kines said big snowfall is contained to a few places experiencing lake effect Snow from the Great Lakes.

‘Those places that are getting hit by lake effect are measuring Snow by feet not inches,’ he said.

Snow last week ensured that nearly Half of the nation is now blanketed in Snow – which might not be a record, but it’s rare for November, Mr Kines added.

The arctic blast is expected to bring temperatures well below freezing as far south as Houston on Tuesday morning. Northern Florida and the southeast have even dropped below freezing. In Mariana, Florida, the low this morning was 31 degrees.

Even lower temperatures are expected for tomorrow in the southeast – where even New Orleans could drop to 31 degrees, setting a record low for this time of year, according to Accuweather.com.

The winter weather has caused 17 deaths – mostly from car crashes because of slippery roads – since Saturday. More crashes are expected as commuters re-learn how to drive in the snow.
