Director Richard Donner Says Goonies Sequel Is in the Works

Finally!

After years of rumors that a Goonies sequel was brewing, the film’s Director Richard Donner said the next chapter of the 80’s classic film is in the works.

When TMZ asked Donner if he was going to direct a trendy comic book film soon, the filmmaker said, "If you call Goonies a comic book. We’re doing a sequel."

O.M.G.

Although the film’s stars Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton and more have yet to comment on Donner’s announcement, the Director said "Hopefully, all of them" would return for the sequel, when he was asked if any of the original cast members would be coming back.

Astin did comment on the possibility of a Goonies sequel back in 2024, when he and Feldman worked together on Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, telling IGN.comat the time, "I’m 1000 percent certain there will be a sequel. I will bet my children on it."

Well, you know what they say, "Goonies never die!"

Mike Nichols, the entertainment icon and husband of ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer, died suddenly Wednesday at the age of 83.

Nichols’ death was announced in a statement by ABC News President James Goldston.

“He was a true visionary, winning the highest honors in the arts for his work as a director, writer, producer and comic and was one of a tiny few to win the EGOT-an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony in his lifetime,” Goldston said in the statement.

“No one was more passionate about his craft than Mike.”

Nichols was born in Germany in 1931, and came to the United States when he was 7 years old, when his family escaped Nazi Germany. He arrived in America speaking little English, but his enthusiasm for his new country never waned.

He graduated from the Walden School in New York City, and began pursuing theater while attending the University of Chicago in the early 1950s. While studying medicine, he found his true calling – comedy. He joined a comedy troupe in Chicago and teamed up with performer Elaine May. The duo gained national popularity together, cementing their partnership as America’s innovative comedy duo.

But Nichols forged his legacy as a director, helming hits on Broadway and the silver screen – from “Barefoot in the Park” and “The Odd Couple” to “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “The Graduate.” He earned the Oscar for best Director for “The Graduate.”

His unparalleled career, which stretched a half-century, included such successes as “Carnal Knowledge,” “Working Girl,” “The Birdcage” and “Closer.” He earned his eighth Tony two years ago for his revival of “Death of a Salesman.”

Nichols is survived by his wife, children Daisy, Max and Jenny, and four grandchildren.

It’s official!

I can exclusively report that X-Men Director Bryan Singer is going to be a dad.

"I can confirm that Michelle Clunie and Bryan Singer are happily Expecting a baby together in early2020," Singer’s rep Simon Halls tells me exclusively. "Best friends for 25 years, mother and father are both very excited about the upcoming birth and look forward to co-parenting the Child together. The pair have been planning this baby for years and have been trying for the last two."

Despite an earlier report, we’re told Clunie, an actress most famous for her work on Queer As Folk as Melanie Marcus, is not a surrogate.

In May, Singer told Out magazine he was bisexual.

"I’m quite bisexual," he said. "In the last five years, I’ve had two girlfriends—one for two years, one for eight months…In the end, it’s probably going to be a guy. I emotionally lean towards male relationships, so I’m happy to say I’m gay, too, if it’s a one-syllable, easy answer."

Just last month, it was revealed that Singer is officially returning to direct X-Men: Apocalypse, a source confirms to E! News. The upcoming X-Men flick will follow this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and will mark Singer’s fourth X-Men film.

Singer, 49, isn’t the only one returning for the superhero franchise’s next installment. Stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and many other members will also reportedly be returning.

Back in June, Singer teased a photo of the ****** treatment for X-Men: Apocalypse. "@xmenmovies #xmen," Singer simply captioned the sneak-peek pic, which was his First Instagram post ever.

Clunie, 44, has also appeared on Bones, NCIS and In Plain Sight.

JOHN GALLIANO will restart his fashion career as Creative Director of Maison Martin Margiela. The move confirms rumours that began last week that Galliano was headed to the Paris-based house.

"Margiela is ready for a new charismatic Creative soul," Renzo Rosso, president of OTB, which controls Margiela, said today. "John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time – a unique, exceptional couturier for a Maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that fashion dream that only he can create, and wish him to here find his new home."

He is expected to show his first designs for the house in January during Paris Couture Week, and will take charge of all of Margiela’s collections, including ready-to-wear. The collection will the first under Galliano’s Creative control since he was dismissed by Dior in March 2024.

Margiela himself, who retired from the house in 2024, was famously reclusive – seldom speaking to the media or appearing in public, and the house has continued in that vein, remaining reluctant to hold a designer aloft as its "face". This may suit Galliano, who has been careful to ensure his re-entry into fashion is a "step-by-step" process, in line with his recovery from addiction issues.

Lainey Blind – March 23, 2024 – Actor vs Director

Lainey BlindMarch 23, 2015Actor vs Director

https://www.laineygossip.com/Actor-vs…d-riddle/37967

Actor vs Director

An acclaimed actor. And an acclaimed director. A Director with a huge ego, recently made even bigger, and his acclaimed friends are pricks too, so it’s not like there’s anyone around to check his behaviour… until he took it a step too far with someone who has some experience with knocking around douchebags on set.

So it’s been a long shoot. And this is a technically particular director. His exacting demands have made it so that production is taking a long, long time. He berates and belittles the crew, he’s impatient, and he’s often cruel, even unethical in his pursuit to get the “perfect shot”. With the hardware now, he feels even more justified in being as unkind as he wants to be, because in his mind, art is often not compatible with compassion. Compassion was the problem when one of his leads, due to a physical ailment, relied on wardrobe to come up with a solution that would alleviate some of his pain. It was a relief to the Actor and, for the most part, it wasn’t a big deal aesthetically, until a long shot was required, at which point the Director noticed that an adjustment had been made to help with the actor’s discomfort.

The Director went ballistic. He got right up in the actor’s face. They start screaming at each other. They decide to take their argument somewhere private, where they continue to yell at each other. It’s LOUD. It’s ugly. It’s level 15 on intensity. The Director won’t forgive, the Actor won’t apologise. Everyone can hear. And then…

Silence.

The Actor exits. On his own.

The director?

Is found by the crew moments later. On the ground in his tent. One punch.

Milla Jovovich Reveals She’s Pregnant & Baby Is Delaying Next "Resident Evil" Film

"Resident Evil" fans, we’ve got good news and bad news for you today.

The good news: Franchise star Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson are expecting their second child together!

The bad news: Plans for "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" have been put on hold … for now.

While it sounds like production on the film was supposed to start this summer, it’s been delayed a year due to Milla’s pregnancy.

Jovovich broke the news to her fans on Facebook earlier today.

"This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," she writes. "But…My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!"

"After a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie," the actress continues. "Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes."

"We want to make the best movie possible and that would be extremely difficult, to say the least, in my present condition," she adds.

Jovovich also said she can’t wait to get to South Africa next summer to start filming the flick — so don’t expect the movie to land in theaters until 2024.

This will be Milla and Paul’s second child together. They also have 8-year-old daughter Ever.
