Mariah Carey: I Fire My Nannies All The Time!

There are two things we now know about Mariah Carey: 1. She won’t be celebrating Valentines Day with her husband, Nick Cannon and 2. She fires Nannies all the time.

Mariah Carey stopped by New York’s The Breakfast Club on Wednesday morning and when asked about her Valentines Day plans, she joked that she has no idea where her hubby is going to be. “He’s not even going to be at home from what I hear,” she said. Carey quickly corrected her comment, suggesting the he will be out of town for All Star Weekend. “The schedule, the schedule,” she said.

But while they may not be spending time together this year, the singer revealed that she and Cannon celebrate their April 30 anniversary every month. “Nick is very festive,” she said.

During the fun interview, Mariah also admitted that she lets go of her Nannies left and right. “I have to have nannies,” she said while discussing her twins Moroccan and Monroe. “But I am very hands on. I Fire Nannies like this,” Carey explained while snapping her fingers. “But I have to because if they try to make themselves more important in the babies minds than me … I just brought a girl back with me from Puerto Rico.”

Angry Anti-Choice Pol Wants to ‘Set Myself on Fire’ Over Abortion

Oklahoma State Representative Kevin Calvey, a Republican from Oklahoma City, struggled recently to find the perfect way to express just how much he hates abortion. He managed it, spectacularly: by saying on the House floor that, theoretically, he’d love to set himself on fire and die Over it, if his Christian beliefs didn’t prevent him.

According to NewsOK, Calvey was furious Over a proposed bill that would give Supreme Court employees a six percent raise, saying he doesn’t think the court is doing enough to prevent Oklahoma women from having abortions (Oklahomarecently banned a common second trimester Abortion procedure.)

Calvey added that he’d self-immolate “to protest the evil that is going on Over there, killing, giving the death penalty, to the will of the people and the will of this **** and protecting the least among us.”

Calvey is the former Vice President of Oklahomans for Life and previously backed “personhood” measures that would say life in Oklahoma begins at conception. Outside the uterus, he has lots of other fun ideas: in 2024, when Muslim leaders were trying to build a mosque in lower Manhattan, he called them “clearly terrorist sympathizers.” This session, he voted in favor of a bill that would ban same-sex marriage, and sponsored a controversial and much-mocked proposal that would make it illegal for county district attorneys to criminally charge state lawmakers.

He told KFOR earlier this week he doesn’t regret his wording during the abortion debate, arguing that threatening to set himself on fire was a perfectly reasonable thing to do: “No, not one bit, I think that I’m hopeful [sic] to draw attention to this serious issue.”

There’s No Smoke Without Fire

I tentatively put my foot on the first step of
the flight of stairs. “You be careful, doctor, won’t you,”
comes a voice from the sitting room. Silence. I wait a few
moments and gingerly take a few more steps. I look behind
me and see a photograph framed on the wall. It’s of a family
sitting on a beach—they’re eating ice creams and laughing.
I recognise the adults sitting either side of their two children
as the parents who, at this moment, are sitting downstairs.
There’s a boy, perhaps 12 years old, in the picture, laughing
as well. This must be Tom. I stare at his face in the photo and
wonder when it began to go wrong. Probably a few years after
this photograph was taken, I think.
I hear a noise from the bedroom across the landing and
I make my way over to it. The door is ajar.
“Hello, Tom, are you in here?” I ask softly into the darkness.
I can just make out someone crouching in the darkness by
the bed. Nothing, and then a scream and something comes
hurtling out of the darkness and hits the wall behind me. I
go downstairs and I’m met by his parents, ashen faced.
“He’s not going to talk to me,” I say. “We’re going to have
to section him and get the police to bring him into hospital.”
His mother starts crying while his father comforts her.
“It’s for the best,” he says. It was a slow and insidious
trajectory that resulted in Tom being like this.
His parents aren’t sure when it
started, but both agree that soon

become psychotic using cannabis,
and the number has increased as

widely available.
The libertarian in me thinks that
people should be free to make choices
about what they do to themselves,
and this includes using cannabis.
And then I remember people like
Tom. People aren’t making informed
decisions about the risks because few
people witness the true horrors of
what it can do; the way it can fracture
someone’s mind, strip someone of a
future and devastate a family.
The lives it ruins aren’t on display
for everyone to see. They’re locked
away in mental hospitals, or shut away
in their rooms, while their parents
wring their hands downstairs and a
doctor upstairs wonders when it all
began to go wrong

Woman Faces Trial for Using Bacon to Set Ex’s Home on Fire

Just ask Cameo Adawn Crispi. The 32-year-old Utah woman will go on Trial next month to face charges that she used burning Bacon to start a Fire inside her ex-boyfriend’s house.

The appropriately named Crispi, 32, Faces several felony charges, including arson, burglary, assault by a prisoner, interfering with an arresting officer, electronic communication harassment and intoxication.

Crispi, who has pled not guilty, waived a preliminary hearing last week, instead opting to go to Trial on Oct. 7. She remains free on bond. Her public defender, Clint Hendricks, declined to comment.

According to charging ********s obtained by the Deseret News, Crispi, 32, entered her ex-boyfriend’s house when he was not home. While in the house, she repeatedly ****ed him. The man called police and said he did not want Crispi in his house.

According to the complaint, an officer arrived at the Home and was met at the door by Crispi.

"I asked to come in and observed a wood stove left open with a Fire burning inside and hot coals on the floor around the stove," the officer wrote. According to the Deseret News, he also noted that he found a pound of Bacon sitting on a ****** sheet on top of the kitchen stove.

"I observed the burner to be on the setting ‘High’ and the Bacon to be severely burned and smoking badly," the officer reportedly wrote.

The Fire was extinguished, and Crispi was taken to the hospital for medical observation. "The doctor asked her about the fire, and she stated she was attempting to start a Fire in the house to get back at [her ex-boyfriend]," the charges state.

According to the charging ********, her blood alcohol content was 0.346, more than four times the legal limit.

More than 40 dogs have been killed in a huge blaze at a Manchester dogs’ home. A 14-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of arson, according to Great Manchester Police. Firefighters were called to the scene around 7pm after a fire was spotted in the kennel section. Around 150 dogs were rescued, however 43 reportedly died in the blaze.
Local residents said they could hear "dogs yelping" as the fire spread. Hundreds of residents flocked to the site in Moss Brook Road with dog blankets, cages and food, with some reportedly helping to save some of the animals. More than 30 firefighters brought the blaze under control with damage caused to about a third of the kennels.

A joint investigation by Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is under way as dampening down at the Home continues. Superintendent Marcus Noden said: "We are working closely with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to establish how this tragedy has occurred.
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation and have a young boy in custody, however we would ask if anyone was in the area and remembers seeing anything suspicious around the Dogs’ Home that they call police and tell us what they know. As a dog owner myself I understand that many people will feel angry and upset about what has happened but I would ask that they let the police carry out their investigations and not take matters into their own hands.
"We have received an overwhelming response from the public and would ask if anyone wants to help they can make donations of food or bedding to North Manchester divisional headquarters on Northampton Road in Newton Heath."

GMFRS station commander Paul Duggan said that some parts of the roof of the single-storey kennel section had collapsed and firefighters were working to ensure it was made safe before assessing the full damage. Anna Stansfield, manager of Cheshire Dogs Home, described the blaze as "soul destroying" and added all the rescued dogs would be transferred to its site in Cheshire.
She said she could not comment on the circumstances of the blaze but confirmed that four members of staff were working there at the time. Ms Stansfield said: "I cannot describe what we have seen tonight. It’s soul destroying. We are so grateful to the people of Manchester and Greater Manchester who have come to support us but we need to get the roads clear so we can get the dogs out."
Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home opened in 1893 and has rehomed more than one million dogs. The registered charity is said to care for more than 7,000 stray and unwanted dogs each year and manages to rehome 95% of them. A surge in donations on its its JustGiving website took place in the wake of the blaze.
Among those donating were Dominic Hunt who wrote "Heartbreaking. I wish I could give more" and Susan and Leanne Gresty, who said: "There are no words to describe the sadness we are feeling for the poor little animals who have lost their lives and those that are suffering tonight."

Singer Jodie Prenger, a patron for Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home, tweeted: " All my thoughts are with you guys. It’s broke my heart to hear such sad news."
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home said it was "incredibly saddened" to learn of the fire. A spokeswoman said: "We extend our deepest sympathies to all the staff and volunteers at the centre.
"We understand this tragic incident may have led to the loss of life of several rescue dogs. Battersea is very willing to help in any way we can over the coming days and weeks and we have attempted contact with the Manchester rescue centre to see how we can support them at this difficult time."
